About Progressive Schoolhouse

On this site, I'm going to talk about progressive political ideas in the simplest words I can manage, so that they will be readable by the greatest number of people, especially by young people. I encourage students to write reports for school based on the ideas and information you find here and elsewhere, and teachers and parents to share material from this site with your kids. I give permission for the contents of this site to be reproduced electronically or physically for educational purposes, as long as no money is charged for the material, none of the text is altered, and this copyright notice is included:

I'm new at political thinking and writing, and I'm hoping this will be one of the strengths of this site, as I try to think through various political issues in the most concrete terms possible. On the other hand, I'm sure I'll also be making lots of mistakes. If you find errors in fact or logic in any of the content on this site, please e-mail me and let me know about them.

If you would like to contribute to this site, please contact me! I'd love any help I can get, especially on The Struggle.

A final note (3/12/01): I honestly didn't think George Bush was going to win the 2000 Presidential election, or that he'd give his first major address so quickly (or push an agenda quite as far to the right as he has) and now I'm rushing this site onto the Internet earlier than I'd planned. That's why it contains so little content at this point. However, I will be continuing to add new material just as fast as I can write it up, so please come back from time to time to check it out!
